Proprietor Howdy Kabrins pioneered the concept of fresh, healthy, fast-casual Mexican food. Starting with his flagship restaurant, La Salsa, at the corner of Pico and Sepulveda boulevards in 1979, Howdy’s unique formula for interesting, enticing and nourishing Mexican food inspired Baja Fresh, Rubio’s, Chipotle, Qdoba and more - all those establishments emulate Howdy’s special formulas.
However, they don’t capture the spirit that defines Howdy’s. The magic that imbues Howdy’s delicious fare with superb taste and textures starts by focusing on the key fundamental elements of clean food. The restaurant only uses fresh, organic tortillas, pintos, spinach & rice, as well as free range organic Mary’s Chicken and only cage free & free range eggs.
Howdy’s menu offers a myriad of fresh, fast and fabulous dining options. Howdy’s is flexible - if you want breakfast at 4 p.m., Howdy’s has it. Consider trying the Huevos Verdes - 3 scrambled eggs, Spinach, Avocado, rice and beans, all perfectly prepared and perfectly seasoned. Que Bueno!
Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to close. There are so many choices! The original gourmet burrito is a popular favorite - choose chicken, steak, or shrimp. Bite into a mouthful of scrumptious, hot filling wrapped in a fresh, organic tortilla.
